Thankfully, I have not had this happen to me but there have been two or
three people reporting tables turning mysteriously into views over the last
few months.

One person can easily make a mistake - I do so often enough - but when a
couple of others find the same thing then there has to be  _something_
going on - whether it be collective hysteria or some weird "feature".

Unusually perhaps <g>, I have no suggestions as to the cause and only the
usual advice to keep good backups - tested by an occasional restore to check
for errors!

One thing I would say to Doug, though, is that I presume you have a good
reason for adding & deleting rows from a permanent table with all the
database space that creates? If not, a temp table would probably be a
benefit from that point of view - but not without its own
complications/needs.
