BTDT (Been there, done that). You need to change the character set on your
printer; you normally can do this from the printer menu. If I remember
correctly, HP printer use the ROMAN 8 character set as default, you need to
change it to an extended set such as the IBM  ALL CHARACTER set or IBM
EXTENDED set or a set that has graphic characters. If you look at the
printer manual, it shows the different Character Code Tables from which you
can select one that has graphic characters.

Have had this problem before , but can't remember how I solved it.. Printing
from Rbase Dos... using HP4 laser printer.
Most of our reports use lines, and this morning all lines are printing as
characters (M,:, D) etc.

I know its a printer code, but can't figure it out.
