OK.

3 views. arLines1, 2, 3

1 & 2 each are constructed with 1 select

Each view returns 250 lines

3 uses "union all" to combine them and returns 749 lines, 250 from
the first and 499 from the second select in the view definition.

BUT !!!...

I was looking at Alastair's post from yesterday where he cites the
syntax for Union. I had dismissed "cannot combine sub-select
commands" since my "IN" clause doesn't do a select... but when I
replaced "IN" with an equivalent "OR" the problem went away.
