Tricia:

Are you running this command from a code-locked application? If so, try running it from the text file or from the R> prompt. I have run into this problem before and almost every time the culprit has been a code-locked file; when I used the text file, the problem went away.

Subject: Won't RENAME tables

r:base 6.5++ windows (on a network)

Thank you everyone for offering advise on trouble shooting my database.  I'm learning a lot, and just so razzak knows, I'm having fun.

I have pin pointed by error message problem.

I can't RENAME my tables.  Everytime I run a program with the RENAME table command I get the following error message.

"RBG65.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows...."

I can RENAME my forms and reports just fine.

I have taken all of the advise offered so far.  I have cleared all variables, I've done a full pack, checked my indexes, and tried re-installing the R:base program files incase the RBG65.exe is corrupt.

I have copied my database to a PC that is not on the network and my database does run A LOT faster, but I still get the error messages when trying to RENAME a table.  I've tried deleting my tables and recreating them and that doesn't work either.

I have recreated a portian of my database as a new database with new tables ext. and the new database runs fine.

Does anyone have any more suggestions?  Tricia
