Marcel: You can import fixed field files. I do this on 60 tables a day. Use the following syntax:
LOAD tempgrad FROM gradev.prd AS FORMATTED USING + grade 1 4, + aisi 5 14, + grade_group 15 15, + scrap_as 16 19, + pc_app 44 46, + grade_type 47 47, + melt_code 48 54 where, for instance, grade 1 4 means to import the first through the fourth character from the gradev.prd file.
