Marcel,

I've not seen anybody else reply to this so my _guess_ is that, for some reason, R:Base is seeing them as a real or double number.

Presumably the column and any variables you are using for them are defined as text so with quotes around them any comparisons there should be no problem.

You don't say what your code is doing but check that you really do have the right definitions and quotes for the items in question. Running the app through TRACE will usually show you where the error is and if it is a long way through some loop you can use [Shift]/[F10] to run it through to an error.

Hope this helps,
Regards,
Alastair.

Subject: Embedded period from DOS to RBWin

My application uses a code number with embedded periods '.'. On occasion these characters are at the end of the code. This has never been a problem under DOS.

Now under RBWin these codex result in an 'Invalid Text character' .

Can someone enlighten me.

Marcel
