Razzak, please could you explain, perhaps in one of your excellent "from the
edge" articles, what the preferred order is for all items on a form?

For instance, should all text object come first, or should they follow the
"logical" cursor sequence, or should they all come last? Or does it not
matter for text objects?

Should buttons and their ilk do the same sort of thing?

How should fields and their associated variables be grouped?

Should you skip from, say, page 2 to the last past before returning to page
1? ie, always go "forward".

It would be really nice to have a definitive document for this as there
obviously seems to be some confusion and/or problems when it's not "right".

Alastair,

Personally, I have always followed the logical tab order with "TO" Text Objects
before their corresponding column/variable. The form header title always is first.

I believe, the problem can arise when you have everything working fine and
all of sudden you decided to locate a new column/variable or re-locate an existing
column/variable along with Text Objects, etc., in middle of the tab sequence and
then expect it to be in order without using the "Change Field Order..." option along
with "Show Text Objects".

And, I agree that it would be really nice to have a definitive document for this.

I do have the passion to design cool forms (everything forms ...) and I'll make sure
to share anything I know of. And, I absolutely don't mind to share the POWER and
FEATURES of The Glorious R:BASE 2000 (ver 6.5++) or The Magical R:BASE 7.0!

Very Best Regards,

Razzak.
