Hoe do you unload and load a template in order to transfer it to my customer?
Bernie,
Database A:
Using The Glorious R:BASE 2000 (ver 6.5++), at the mighty R> prompt:
CONNECT DBNameA IDENTIFIED BY UserID Password
SET NULL -0-
OUTP TemplateA.RM
UNLOAD DATA FOR SYS_MERGE WHERE SYS_MERGE_NAME = 'TemplateName'
OUTP SCREEN
This will create two files, i.e., TemplateA.RM and TemplateA.LOB
Now, copy those two (2) files to the directory where DatabaseB resides.
Note: Database B, for example, DBNameB, MUST be connected at least once with
R:Merge to create the required SYS_MERGE system table.
If you are using the latest and greatest in-line patch-3 beta, that will create those
system tables automatically.
Database B:
At the mighty R> prompt:
CONNECT DBNameB IDENTIFIED BY UserID Password
INPUT TemplateA.RM
There you have it!
Enjoy and make sure to have fun!
Very Best Regards,
Razzak.
