I had a problem that after installing a printer (USB connected), there was no icon for it in Printers. This was with SP2. I downloaded SP3 and magically the printer icon showed up in Printers.
I just installed a new IBM computer with W2k. It came with SP2. So I immediately downloaded SP3, installed the printer, and it is nowhere to be found. I am still working on that problem. I think Microsoft has a problem with USB connections.
