We have the ZIP RETURN (I won't even give it the name fix as it's not a fix nore a
patch but rather a joke). It only works when RBase doesn't chow the entire pool.
Sometimes RBase behaves and stops it's memory eating, but sometimes the program
continues onward until all the memory is completely gone and the app crashes. ZIP
RETURN doesn't do anything for this because the app never has a chance to execute that
line of code.

Our kludge to resolve the crash problem is to insert a ZIP RETURN at a frequently
passed spot in the programme. Users object to the 3 second (approx) pause while we
display a "restarting..." message, so we only call it when the user's operating system
is W2K or XP. Users of XP/W2K machines don't like the pause, but they do like the
absence of memory allocation crashes. We have found that we can reduce the intrusion
by only doing the ZIP RETURN every third time through, at one site.
