OK, but you can do the following now. NB you still need the declarations for the 
function, only the IF block replaces the IFIN.

SET VAR arg3 TEXT = 'FEMALE'
SET VAR arg4 TEXT = 'MALE'
SET VAR arg5 TEXT

IF arg1 IN .arg2 THEN
   SET VAR arg5 = .arg3
  ELSE
   SET VAR arg5 = .arg4
ENDIF
