Hi Bill I think the answer lies in code table for DOS-Ascii and Win-ANSI This (char(255)) displays correctly in DOS. This is very much the same problem as international charters. When I go from DOS Database to Windows I scan my text fields and replace for '�' as an exsampel THE (char(132)) that displays correctly in DOS to (char(228)) that display correctly in Windows. However I cant not tell what number you should use in windows instead of (char(255)) please inform when you find the answer. Gunnar Ekblad
