File 1 was about 6000 rows, 2 columns (Text (34) + REAL). I tryed many XLS abd DBF formats, and I succeeded only with GATEWAY DBase 3 File 2 was about 80000 rows (Text(9) + REAL). All attempts gave me a pauses for a while, then error: "Could not open the input file." Only way to import that one was to use a CSV format and LOAD command (impossible with GATEWAY).
