New topic in Getting Started: Custom popupmenu class and RB interface
Kyan - Mon Mar 31, 2008 4:40 am <http://forums.realsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?t=21546> Ok, I'm ready to build my own custom popupmenu and have a few questions. First, everyone says "use a canvas". Ok, no problem, i make a right and left side tiff and a central "expandable" section tiff. I think I am supposed to create a new class, set super to popupmenu and in the paint event, tell the canvas to draw in the tiffs in the right locations. Am I doing OK so far? Now, If I do this, I and up with empty canvasses on my window builders which makes it a bit hard to see how the design is going. Am I missing something or is this just the way it is? A bit unrelated - is there a blog out there with this kind of simple stuff for people like me who want to design an app as far as possible without knowing any "real" programming (though thanks to lots of people here, I'm getting a feel for some things)? _________________ RB 2007 r5 Standard Release. iBook G4.
