On some Vista machines, my IPCsockets work just fine. On others, no communications are getting through. Is there some obscure Vista security setting that might disallow IPCsocket function? Your exe's may not have sufficient priviledges under Vista to use IPCsockets. The way I have worked around it is to right click each of the affected exe files and set them to run as administrator. That fixed a host of odd failures which wasted nearly five hours of my time as I attempted to find out what was wrong with my programs. Thanks, Vista. There may be a more limited and safer way to expand the permissions, but I don't know it. Perhaps a Windows Vista jockey could help. I'm primarily an OSX user who is forced to also support XP and Vista in my apps.
