Once again, I am having a problem with encodings. Here is what I am trying to
do:
I have a string with accents. One string comes from an editfield , the other is
a Dim String.
For instance: Méchèl

I have an ODBC connection to a DBF/Dbase file. When i try to put the string in
the DBF table, i get all sorts of weird characters: for instance MéCHeL and
MéCHèL
I have tried doing convertencoding with all the available windows encodings,
but no change.
How can i find out from what encoding to what encoding i need to convert to
make it work. Oh yeah, before i forget, i get those weird characters when
opening the DBF in Microsoft Access. But when inserted right, the accents
should display correctly, shouldn't they?

Any suggestions?

I'm using RB 2008r3.1 on Windows.
