Because of SMTP socket bugs (SMTP socket doesn't work in RB 2k6) I have had to test and write my SMTP socket code using RB 2k9.1. My computer doesn't run RB 2k9.1 well at all; it's super slow and not fun and there are issues (no need to mention in detail, just think really sluggish and slow). Because of this I want to go back and develop using RB 2k6 but I'm concerned that 'stepping down' from RB 2k9.1 after adding significant amount of code (much more than just SMTP code) may cause me problems which I may not find out about until much later. - who knows exactly what RB is doing under the hood? I don't use any 'new' features in RB 2k9.1 so I would think nothing really would change in my project? I would also think if there were any changes going from RB 2k9.1 to RB 2k6 I would be notified of changes or problems, is this true and is it reliable? Anyone have experience or thoughts to comment about this? Thanks.
