I compile every day and build a quite complex system for a hi-tech-company. Now I am travelling through the States and visit several friends. One of my friends is thinking of re-invoking his programming abilities. So I thought I should show him REALbasic, to ease his re-entry into the world of programming. I downloaded the free trial Version (Pro) on his PC and started to make a simple Demo-Project to show him how easy and effective it is. But I must say: It isn't. Not on his PC (Windows XP). The Build-Process freezes without a senseful message and then I have to interrupt the IDE. That's not really my problem, when back to Germany, I'll continue working with REALbasic on a Mac. But I think it could be interesting to tell this. I will not be able to convince him about it, and I will not try, because I cannot say how good it will run on a PC, I am simply not experienced enough on a PC to find out how to go around this problem. Well, this is how it is. The PC runs fine, by the way. Very stable and quite easy to use, even for a Mac-user. It doesn't seem to be a suffering installation of Windows.
