Posts: 296              I've been wondering if there is any reason that we 
don't have customs canvasses paint themselves in the IDE?

I mean when I set the canvas backdrop to a pic in the project, it shows the 
pic. But if I put code in the canvas paint event, I just get a faint grey 
rectangle, making it more difficult to visualise my GUI. Maybe this is not 
possible for some objective programming reason?

It just seems that if I make a custom canvas, then it show in the IDE with its 
default painted background. Obviously, I don't mean painting canvasses with 
code from other objects or even code in the canvas that is not in the paint 
event, but why not paint the canvasses , if they do have a paint event?
