I needed to create a small picture and use it as a canvas backdrop. The background colour of this picture has to match exactly the default grey background colour of my application. Using a Colourpicker I found this colour to be RGB(212,208,200). I filled the background of my picture with it and saved the graphic as a GIF. However, when the program runs the picture shows a darker, even blue-ish colour. I just couldn't get it's colour to match, until I saved it as a JPG. Now the colour matches perfectly. What I would like to know is, if this colour difference is being caused by my graphics card or that RB renders GIF and JPG colours in a different way.
