I did a clean install of Real Server 2009r1.2. I docs say it should ask for a license when I first start up, but it doesn't. A window titled Real Server Admin comes up and asks for Host, Username, Password, Port and Encryption. I found a post from someone who had this problem on a Mac and solved it by deleting the realserver.settings file. That has not helped as the file has not been restored and attempts to connect now cause and error(4). I did not have any trouble earlier with XP.
