Location: Manzanillo, Colima Mexico I am reading a text file into
RB. that was exported by Filemaker as utf8.
I confirmed that it is exported as utf8 by loading it into TextWrangler.

It loads into the listbox and displays correctly my spanish accented characters.

I up load it to the mysql db. (all tables set to utf8) Can you dictate what
char set RB uses to write to db?

When I load the Textfields to edit a record read from the db the Textfield
characters don't display correctly.

Do I have to use something to get it to display correctly in the Textfields. If
so why? I thought RB used utf8 internally?
When do you have to use the Defineencoding?

What does the code look like on the read and write to db?

I've read many articles on encoding but something is not clicking!

Thanks,

Chan
