If something has to be done in Word or Excel, why not just open up Word/Excel and do it? My understanding is that in order to manipulate Word or Excel that Word or Excel must at least be installed on the computer. If they're not installed, is it possible to substitute with OpenOffice? Anyway, the main reason for this post, what are the real life uses for RB manipulation of Word/Excel. What applications or part of applications where manipulation of Word/Excel was/is required.
