So I'm wondering whether there is a replacement picture class which might handle multiple alpha channel PNGs properly? It's just a case of adding the plugin and then replacing any calls to "picture = folderitem.OpenAsPicture" to "picture = PNGu.OpenAsPictureWithMask(folderitem)". Alpha channels work perfectly this way, with all alpha channels preserved.
