I have a Visual Basic application that I'm interested in porting over to Real basic, but first I'd like some opinions/wisdom of those of you who have undergone this process, so I'll have somewhat of a scope on what lies ahead of me. My application is fairly simple, but requires much communication with Microsoft SQL Server. Nearly every function or pass in this application requires some sort of exchange with the sql database. So I imagine I'll need to migrate my MS SQL database to SQLite. I've done a migration from MS SQL to MySQL before; is the migration process to SQLite much the same? How different is the code to access information from the database? What I'm more worried about is the use of flash swf's inside the application with the ability to pass variables to each other, and whether or not I'll have to modify the actionscript in flash to achieve the same effect in Real Basic. Currently I import "AxShockwaveFlashObjects" and use "FlashCall", "flashPlayer_FSCommand", and "flashPlayer.FlashVars" to pass information between VB and Flash; obviously the actionscript in flash is written to support this functionality. If I have to modify the actionscript code to make all of this work in Real Basic, it may be a deal breaker for me. This is a older application, and our flash developer is no longer with us. Thanks for reading!
