It sends the results as text to a serial port. I would like to write a RealBasic app to listen for those results and write them to a database. Both apps would be running on the same Windows machine. Nothing is physically connected to a serial port since they are on the same machine. Can I do this with the Serial control? Does a physical serial port have to be present? If not do I just arbitrarily pick a com port number to use? Thanks for any hints to get me started.
