Posts: 31 I can't seem to find what I want so sorry if I missed
it.

Here is the situation:

I have a rtf document that I want to edit or look at from real basic.
for example: C:/Test folder/Document to be opened.rtf

How do I, from real basic, make windows think I doubled clicked on that file
(Document to be opened.rtf) so word pad will open to that document?

The file could be a txt, rtf, doc, bmp, jpeg or exe anything else. How do I
get windows to open the program that will run or handle the selected file.

I have tried doing a shell but it seems like it's the long way around and has
to be done for each file type. It seem like it would be so much simpler and
reliable to just open the file and let windows find the program that will.

I hope you can understand what I'm trying to do.

Any suggestions will be appricated.
