p.graphics.drawline would draw on the main layer

p.mask.graphics.drawline would draw on the mask layer (normally here you would
use shades of gray (from black to white) indicating varying levels of
transparency

Still I'm left with a doubt as to if this 50% grey is 50% transparent, i.e.
will I still be able to see what is drawn underneath it or must I do the color
blending myself?

Posts: 245 You need to experiment and see.

Using different levels of grey as the mask will give you different levels of
transparency.
You will be able to see the layer below it (blending is done for you), you may
have experiment with shades of grey to get the desired level of transparency
(depending on the color, brightness, saturation etc of the picture)
