Posts: 239 I am facing the following two issues with Cocoa:

1. IMAGE RENDERING: pictures are brighter in Cocoa than in Carbon, and their
color balance is also slightly different. Because of that, the overall effect
of a carefully designed UI is no longer the same: it is a subtle difference but
still a difference. Not saying the Carbon rendering engine is more correct than
Cocoa, but just highlighting a compatibility issue between the two targets so
that image files tailored for the Carbon target may loose part their original
appeal in Cocoa. Does anybody know the source of this problem and if there is
any intention for RS to get this fixed with the next release?

2. FONT RENDERING: font alignment and positioning inside text fields (labels,
drawstring, etc.) is often slightly different in Cocoa with respect to Carbon.
I'm talking subtle variations of a few pixels but still something visible.
Whenever pixel-precise positioning of UI objects is a must, this represents an
issue; it would be good to know if we need to change anything or if this is
going to be fixed with the next release. Does anybody know why RS has modified
text rendering in Cocoa (was that necessary at all)?

Regards,
