<http://forums.realsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?t=41031> Page 1 of 1 [ 3 posts ] Previous topic | Next topic Author Message PixelPaul Post subject: mouse down on canvas fired, but when app isn't at front. ??Posted: Mon Oct 17, 2011 12:22 am Joined: Wed Jan 25, 2006 5:27 am Posts: 13 hey hey hey, was wondering if anyone has come across this and can shed some much needed help. you will notice with normal buttons in realbasic, that when you have your app running but it isn't at the ftont / dosn't have the focus ( you in another app ) and you click on the button in your app that is goes straight to the down and when you release the mouseup event can be fired. i want to get this with a canvas if possible, so when in another app but you click on the canvas, an action happens when you release. at the moment when you click on the canvas it just brings your app to the front in focus but no mouse up event is fired for the canvas. could any shed some light on how this can be done? been pulling my hair out about it. Are you doing that? Top PixelPaul Post subject: Re: mouse down on canvas fired, but when app isn't at front.Posted: Mon Oct 17, 2011 12:33 am Joined: Wed Jan 25, 2006 5:27 am Posts: 13 yeah i am doing that, it works all fine when my application is in the front / has focus. but it's when my application isn't at front / have focus. the user has to click on it 2 times. as the 1st click just bring my app to the front. i want the user to only click it once, not having to click twice, which can be a pain and a bit confusing. it works fine with normal buttons.
