Location: Michigan, USA I'm going to be doing some prototyping
soon, and I'm trying to determine the sort of "oomph" I may need out of a
server. The reality is, I have little concept of what overhead is involved in
running a database server and simultaneously running an Apache server for Web
Apps. I'm used to just using a machine that goes far beyond the call of duty,
but servers just don't really work this way.

I was hoping for tips on predicting database size (I'm using Postgres), the
amount of overhead this places on the processor and memory, and additionally
how much is involved for running Web Apps. I realize this is variable given
traffic size versus the complexity of the Web App, but I'm really just looking
for pointers.

For my particular prototype, I don't expect more than ten people to be using
the web app at any given moment, the most complex operations it will be doing
is database queries and chart production, and I don't see more than 2mb of data
being written to the database over an hour's time.

I'm looking at the following server, let me know if it sounds like it'd achieve
my purposes, please: http://www.logicsupply.com/products/atom_slfjt01

Much appreciated!
