Not really participated in the forums, been a rare lurker without an account

Hope you guys don't mind the query...

Anyone got experience of trying to run an application over a SQL Azure backend?
The inbuilt SQL plugin and Monkeybread plugin seems to have a problem with the
servername containing '.' as in 'abcd1234i1k.database.windows.net'. I can
connect with no probs to a conventional MS SQL install, just having problems
with the cloud.

[*] I've tried creating a SQL alias within my SQL 2008 R2 box and no joy
[*] It would be nice to avoid ODBC if we can, though I haven't tried that.

This would be a big win for me, it's something my clients would really go for
so any feedback/ideas would be great.

Enterprise Edition - Real Studio 2001 R3

Thanks
Pat
