I am a stock trader and I am trying to build an application that would automate my trading based on a specific strategy. Since I already used RealBasic in a few personal projects, I would like to use it for this one also. Now, I am already using a trading software called Trader Workstation (TWS) made by Interactive Brokers (IB). The company offers a way to send and receive information through an API. I downloaded the API from their Website and tried to make it work but I could not. I also tried their ActiveX component with the same result. I searched the RB forum and found two posts. One of which gave me the idea to use TCPSockets to connect to the TWS and I actually was able to connect. I know this for a fact because when you try to connect, the TWS software shows a window asking if it ok for an external program to connect to TWS. Unfortunately, the main problem I have is when I try to communicate with TWS. I can not seem to find a way to send and receive information. Could anyone point me in the right direction, please?
