Posts: 3 I was wondering if there was a way to set a background
in a LABEL.
For example, I have a calendar, in which I would like to highlight certain
dates. What would the best option be?

The only way I thought of was to put RECTANGLES behind them, but that doesn't
seem very effective... :p

All ideas are welcome!!

Thanks

Better yet... use a Canvas for the WHOLE calendar... that way you have have to
deal with ONE object..

Posts: 3 No... I already built my calendar with labels and group
boxes, and I don't think a canvas could do everything I want it to do.
I don't know much about canvas' but I think it's used for placing images, right?
Therefore, my calendar can't be an image, due to each different possibility.

Can we place text boxes IN canvas'? But wouldn't that circle back to placing a
rectangle?

Maybe there are some things I don't know about canvas'...

Thanks a lot

Text is a thing that can be drawn.... as well as lines, circles... etc.

Look at the example shown here. I know for a fact that that is ONE canvas....

http://forums.realsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=42627&hilit=calendar

Particularly since I just created a similar control for use in a project of my
own (the reason I didn't use the one from that topic, is I needed display
options above and beyond what he used... but the concept is identical)

So yes... your Calendar IS an image.... an image that YOU draw, that YOU
control... so yes it will do EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING you want (not
magically of course, but then you are wanting to be a applications developer I
assume)

The Canvas is possibly the most versatile control in your entire arsenal.

Bad idea. Dave is absolutely right. Use a canvas.
