Posts: 60 What is the best method to convert a mac address as
returned by System.GetNetworkInterface(0).MACAddress into an unsigned integer
which will be used in a mysql sql query?

For example, given returned mac address of 00:30:67:5F:FC:A9
I need to convert that to: 207892774057

I tried:
dim mac2hex as String ="&h" + ReplaceAll(App.MAC_address, ":", "")
dim mac2int as Int64 = Val( "&h" + mac2hex )

But that resulted in 1734343849 which is not the correct integer value for my
needs.

I'm working with RB 2008 release 4.2 and yes, I know it's somewhat old.
