Location: Southern California In my experience: with actual
photographs use JPEG and set the quality to the lowest level you can tolerate.
With line art use PNG. It depends on the image of course, and you can test
final size and quality using a tool like Photoshop.

If you're serving images from WE, Web Custom Controls has classes with
additional type, quality, and viewing options. And if you're drawing images
server side using Picture.Graphics and pushing them to the client, you will get
far better performance (and more drawing options) with the new jCanvas control
which implements a client side canvas with all the features of the popular
jCanvas library and more.
