myplace = New folderitem( "\\myserver\myshare" )

In the above example, myplace is coming back as Nil.
However, if I try the following:
Dim myplace as folderitem
myplace = New folderitem( "\\myserver\myshare\mysubfolder" )

The above works just fine (for all subfolders of the share).
Am I missing something?

Location: San Diego, CA try this

myplace = New folderitem( "\\myserver").child("myshare").child("mysubfolder" )

and really should look for NIL one level at a time

Posts: 2 I am sorry everyone.
I did not research my problem as carefully as I should have.

I am not having any problem with New FolderItem returning a Nil object.
The real problem is that when testing myplace.exists, it is coming up False
when it should return True.
And I have no problems with existence of sub-folders.
