Location: United Kingdom I'm building a new high end HTPC. This
will be the first DIY computer I've built for about 10 yrs so I'm a little
rusty (I'm a Mac man normally).

I've already bought this sweet case, am going for the Intel ivy bridge i5 3750K
chip and have selected a suitable motherboard.

My question relates to the PSU. I will be running a blu-ray drive, 6 7200rpm
HDDs and a SSD (no dedicated graphics card).

Looking at some online wattage calculators, I reckon I'll be fine with
550-600W. I've been advised to get a modular PSU.

Browsing on the net I noticed that different PSUs have different numbers of
SATA power connectors. Do I need one SATA power connector for each of my 8 SATA
devices? Doesn't the motherboard supply the drives with power drawn from the
PSU?

Sory for the dumb questions but I don't want to order the wrong PSU and frazzle
(or not power correctly) my expensive new gear.

Does anyone have any recommendations for this setup?

Thanks
