Posts: 188 I'm thinking of moving a rather simple data model of
a Realbasic Web application into a true database. Though I structurally have
some understanding of data bases, I'd like to avoid painting myself into a
corner here, so any input is appreciated.

It's basically 3 entities with a couple of simple attributes. Each oif thos
entities is n:m related to the others:

When displaying any of those entities in a list, the count of related objects
should be listed as well, so i.e. you can see how many persons have been at a
place or how many courses have taken place there.

I assume that usually each of these relations would need an own table for each
of the pair relations:

Obviously this is a lot of boilerplate stuff which I'd rather like to avoid.
I'd also like to know how to come from that structural view to an
implementation.

How would such a model be created in RealBasics Database editor? How to add a
relation between two entities? How to get the count of those relations for an
entity? Would using Valentina make thinks easier by reducing „boilerplate
tables“?If yes, which of the many Valentina products would I need?
Thanks for reading this, and thanks for any helful pointers!
