Our current clinet application is an Access app that connects to a SharePoint list and (other than the SharePoint list connection) is rude, crude and socially unacceptable. Since I interface with this app all day long I hope to replace it with a much friendlier RealBasic app. My question is, how can I connect with the SharePoint list from a RealBasic app? Your insight is appreciated. It's a pretty customized version of SOAP though like Exchange Web Services. Connecting to it with Real Studio would be very non-trivial. I hate to discourage Real Studio use but in this case building a native .NET application would be much easier. Sharepoint list management is build in to the .NET framework and very easy to work with. If you are dead set on Real Studio you need to become very comfortable with generating complex SOAP queries. _________________ Thanks, Phillip Zedalis Managing Developer http://www.1701software.com 773-236-1701 Top pjzedalis Post subject: Re: Realbasic connecting to a SharePoint server databasePosted: Mon Nov 12, 2012 5:05 am Joined: Wed Jan 12, 2011 12:48 pm Posts: 34 Location: Fresno, CA Also I believe MBS and maybe a few others have SOAP engines available for Real Studio. However I do not know but find it unlikely the support the custom types that will be appended to it. I've written Exchange Web Service support in objective-c which is very similar and typical SOAP libraries did not work correctly. I ended up creating all the queries by hand and it's not always reliable. Minor patch versions to Exchange could disrupt my code. _________________ Thanks, Phillip Zedalis Managing Developer http://www.1701software.com 773-236-1701 Top Display posts from previous: All posts1 day7 days2 weeks1 month3 months6 months1 year Sort by AuthorPost timeSubject AscendingDescending Page 1 of 1 [ 3 posts ] -- Over 1500 classes with 29000 functions in one REALbasic plug-in collection.
