another of mine in Linux: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=45891 — here, I'm taking a step
backwards and considering the issue as a whole.

Using Debian Linux 6.0

Anyway, how have others accomplished the task of starting their Web App when
the system starts up? On Linux, I could put the app in /etc/init.d and include
in the initiation list. But I'm wondering if there's any reason I shouldn't do
this?

Another thought is to create a Console (or Service, depending on OS)
Application that runs once with startup — finding the application and
launching it.

Is this a situation where there's just more than one way to skin a cat? I'm
looking for feedback on the pros, cons, and alternatives.
