Posts: 245 Hi there - I'm using RS2012.2
I have a graphics heavy application which I built and are building on Windows 7
It works perfectly on windows - and I've reduced ALL the flicker (I'm getting
pretty pro at doing this).

Mostly this is done by generating my images as composites of png files and
using drawpicture.
>From time to time I would compile them for MAC intel and this would help me
>sort out slight layout improvements between the two.

HOWEVER - after intalling and building since 2012.r1 I get the horrible
Exception of class
PlatformNotSupportedException was not handled.
The application must shut down
Exception message: Creating a picture with alpha channels is
not supported in Carbon, use Cocoa instead.

So, when I do build to Cocoa, the graphic behave horribly and I get tons of
crash messages.
My mac is running Lion (my earlier builds use the MBS quicktime function and
work well. It works perfectly on windows)
I've checked all my images (png's and jpegs) in Photoshop - they do not have
alpha channels - I can only think these channels are generated when I use the p
= new picture (100,100,32) command.

So, my question - how do I turn off alpha channels - or disable them or is
there some new fangled command which is new.
I do not want to generate a MAC version in Cocoa as it (in my opinion) is
horribly buggy, probably does not support ealier versions of Mac OS, and if I
complie for windows (and there are no window's specific APIs or other windows
only dll being used, I expect it to run just as well on Mac as it does on
windows (or even better).

Has any body got any device.

PS I expect I will be able to iron out those cocoa bugs on the release which
allows us all to work on any platform and build using our current platform (I
use the professional license)

Cheer,
Sean

Okay- I didn't know that - but is RS2012v1 in Beta?
It shouldn't be if the next version is in Beta... and that's where all the
problems started.
However, 2012v2 is working well on windows
