Location: India Hello folks,

When we talk about picture transparency, we find two things. One is "Alpha
Channel" and the another one is "Mask".

I have few questions regarding these two.

As per the language reference,
Quote:A Picture that is created with the constructor that omits the Depth
parameter has an alpha channel.
You will need to enable GDI+ on Windows for this to work. Otherwise you will
get an PlatformNotSupportedException raised.

I also get PlatformNotSupportedException in Mac for carbon build.

One question, Why only a picture that is created with the constructor that
omits the Depth parameter has an alpha channel? not a picture which created
with depth value?

What is the depth value actually indicate?

For a picture that has a depth value, we can have a mask to control the
transparency. we can't use alpha channel for that.

So, I just can't relate these three thing. Someone can please help to
understand the concept?

Kind Regards,
