But if I change the address to https it doesn't find the app and an error page is displayed. The app is running as a web service, currently on port 80. For https I know it needs to be on port 443. Will changing the port to 443 fix this problem? I still need the app to work if they go to port 80 though and I obviously don't want to run two instances of the app. Top Akiland Post subject: Re: Getting HTTPS to workPosted: Thu Dec 06, 2012 2:03 pm Joined: Tue Jan 04, 2011 3:02 am Posts: 1053 Location: Jönköping, Sweden You need to configure SSL in Apache2 to make it work. Maybe this would help a bit? http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/349 But, if you don't want your users to accept an "insecure certificate" every time you app is accessed you'll need to buy an SSL certificate from an SSL authority and those do not come cheap Example: http://www.digicert.com/wildcard-ssl-certificates.htm _________________ http://www.linkedin.com/in/albinkiland Dev. iMac 27" + 2x22" LG (2.8GHz Intel Core i7, 12GB RAM, 120GB SSD) OS X 10.8 REAL.Studio Web Edition 2011r3 Top neonash7777 Post subject: Re: Getting HTTPS to workPosted: Thu Dec 06, 2012 3:44 pm Joined: Mon Nov 29, 2010 7:01 pm Posts: 321 Akiland wrote:You need to configure SSL in Apache2 to make it work. I'm also using a windows server not an apache one. Any advice on settings this up for windows? I have the server ensure the application is running even if no one is logged in and it relaunches the app if it crashes. But switching the URL to https brings up a webpage not found error. Don't think SSL is doable with those :/ _________________ http://www.linkedin.com/in/albinkiland Dev. iMac 27" + 2x22" LG (2.8GHz Intel Core i7, 12GB RAM, 120GB SSD) OS X 10.8 REAL.Studio Web Edition 2011r3 Top neonash7777 Post subject: Re: Getting HTTPS to workPosted: Thu Dec 06, 2012 4:01 pm Joined: Mon Nov 29, 2010 7:01 pm Posts: 321 Akiland wrote:Is it a Stand-Alone build?
