I was trying to find out why my arrow keys stopped working tonite. I realized that I had de-selected these properties. In a last ditch effort, I enabled them and found that having these not enabled, caused the failure of key down events to be ignored. Can anyone explain the relationship between keydown/up and tabs? 2012R1.2 Win7 Thank you, Tim Top Paul Lefebvre Post subject: Re: What relationship is Tab Stops and Accept Tabs PropertiePosted: Fri Dec 14, 2012 8:50 am Site Admin Joined: Fri Sep 30, 2005 9:35 am Posts: 868 Location: South Portland, Maine AcceptTabs is a property of TextField, TextArea, Canvas and ContainerControl. When True, if the user types a tab then the tab will get sent to the control (and KeyDown event handler) instead of moving focus to the next control on the window. TabStop, when True, indicates whether the control will get focus when the user press tab to move between the controls on the window. When False, the control is skipped. _________________ Paul Lefebvre Developer Evangelist Real Software, Inc. The Real Studio Developer Conference is back: April 23rd-26th, 2013 in Orlando, FL. So the name "Accept Tabs" is a bit of a misnomer since it is necessary to all keyboard activity. I don't follow. What do you mean? _________________ Paul Lefebvre Developer Evangelist Real Software, Inc. The Real Studio Developer Conference is back: April 23rd-26th, 2013 in Orlando, FL. AcceptTabs is False by default for controls like TextField and TextArea and you can certainly type in them and use the arrow keys. Do you have a sample project you can share that demonstrates the problem you are seeing? _________________ Paul Lefebvre Developer Evangelist Real Software, Inc. The one I am working with, is too large to do the trick for you. If I get time I will try to create one.
