It uses a custom algorithm to run a "special search" through Google (Google hashes ALL content in every possible random order..so you'll be surprised what you can enter and actually get a returned hash or vice-versa )...then performs an md5 verification against the returned arrays and returns the 'most' found result to another function that hashes the original string to verify if the MD5 and String are indeed a matching pair... I created a PHP version of this a few years ago and have began porting it to Realbasic. At the moment, you may test the class here: http://macrinoria.com/hash/ Due to the fact this could be used to rapidly scan a database and hack through user's passwords (via sql injections..I will not explain how to do it here so please don't ask) I will not post the class within Public Domain. If you are in need of something like this (you can retrieve passwords rather than resetting them on a website!!!)..I'll be glad to share the class. The class works with a single call, then returns two properties....Query and Result.. Example: if you enter "thisismypassword" you will get "31435008693ce6976f45dedc5532e2c1" and if you enter "31435008693ce6976f45dedc5532e2c1" you will get "thisismypassword" Sorry hackers...I will only share this with users who are 'known' within the community. 99% of the time it will return a string or md5...the other 1% of the time Google has not hashed the entered query...yet.. _________________ Matthew A.
