Then from the main window I can open other windows over the main window. All other windows are set as Moveable Modal windows to keep any editing from being done in the main window while there open. Now where my problem is: I have a help window that I can open from F keys and it is set as a Document window. This all works fine in the main window because it is set as a Document Window but is locked when opened from any other window set as moveable modal. In the help window you can't click on anything. Is there a way I can get my help window active when it is opened by a Moveable Modal window. The Moveable Modal windows can not be changed to a Document Window as I can not allow any changes to the main window while others are open over it. However, I do not understand whether you are using RS to write the app or whether you are using it to port a WIN app to the Mac. I did the latter and "cheated" by using an OSX chm reader to open my WIN help file in a separate window on the MAC. I am writing a program for mac and windows and the help file has proven to be a PITA. I bought UniHelp/HelpLogic and now it is a waist of money. That's precisely what MODAL is supposed to do I'd avoid modal windows for the "editing" and maybe use a tab panel to switch to a pane where the user cannot get to the data in the main window but the overall window is still a document window.
