I'm currently developing an ordersystem for my own company in WE and it's coming along just great! Faaar from done but there are two pictures of the GUI here: http://www.bixue.se/sma-andringar-i-cobalt/ I would recommend to deploy as a Stand-Alone, dont know exactly why but it feels more responsive than a CGI under Apache _________________ http://www.linkedin.com/in/albinkiland Dev. iMac 27" + 2x22" LG (2.8GHz Intel Core i7, 12GB RAM, 120GB SSD) OS X 10.8 REAL.Studio Web Edition 2011r3 Top Jason_Adams Post subject: Re: RealStudio is Ready for Pro web appPosted: Sun Jan 13, 2013 2:59 pm Joined: Fri Nov 10, 2006 4:10 pm Posts: 1732 Location: Michigan, USA Akiland wrote:I would recommend to deploy as a Stand-Alone, dont know exactly why but it feels more responsive than a CGI under Apache If I remember correctly it's because the App will close on a CGI build if left without any sessions for a period of time. Once another CGI request is made, the App has to start again â hence the delay. I'm personally using WE to develop a Postgres front-end on a closed network, running on a Linux server. I've had to overcome a few bugs, but nothing that's been a real showstopper; and the bugs are steadily being fixed. All in all I'm happy and so are my customers. Also, good looking UI. _________________ Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Windows XP Pro SP3 Ubuntu 11.04 via Virtual Box RS Enterprise 2012r1.1 Programming Tutorials & Free Projects: http://www.JasonTheAdams.com "Christianity has not been tried and found wanting; it has been found difficult and not tried." - G.K. At least that's what they say. And those workarounds has for me only been minor ones. Jason_Adams wrote:Also, good looking UI. Thank you. There's also some sweet animations in the left menu that for some reason don't show in a picture It's all in the details! _________________ http://www.linkedin.com/in/albinkiland Dev. iMac 27" + 2x22" LG (2.8GHz Intel Core i7, 12GB RAM, 120GB SSD) OS X 10.8 REAL.Studio Web Edition 2011r3 Top jetpr Post subject: Re: RealStudio is Ready for Pro web appPosted: Mon Jan 14, 2013 10:03 am Joined: Wed Sep 20, 2006 5:12 pm Posts: 567 Location: Puerto Rico Hi Akiland but how you call the Stand-Alone app in Firefox _________________ Thanks for any contribution and God blesses all (I start Using RS in 10/12/2010) Mac Mini with Snow Leopard v10.6.8 and Real Studio 2012r1 Pro And Windows 7 RS2012r1 Personal and Linux RS2012r1 Personal Register user my Hobbies R/C Turbines Jets Models Top Akiland Post subject: Re: RealStudio is Ready for Pro web appPosted: Mon Jan 14, 2013 10:59 am Joined: Tue Jan 04, 2011 3:02 am Posts: 1101 Location: Jönköping, Sweden jetpr wrote:Hi Akiland but how you call the Stand-Alone app in Firefox http://IPTOSERVER:PORT You set the port in RS Build Settings If the app runs behind a Firewall, be sure to upen up the port. In Linux it should start a Terminal window and on Windows it should do the same. Simply leave that window open Hope this explains it better than I do: http://docs.realsoftware.com/index.php/Web_Deployment_Overview#Standalone Here are instructions on how to Daemonize your app on Linux or run it as a Windows Service on Windows. http://www.realsoftwareblog.com/2012/03/daemonize-your-standalone-web.html http://www.realsoftwareblog.com/2012/03/running-standalone-web-application-as.html _________________ http://www.linkedin.com/in/albinkiland Dev. iMac 27" + 2x22" LG (2.8GHz Intel Core i7, 12GB RAM, 120GB SSD) OS X 10.8 REAL.Studio Web Edition 2011r3 Top Display posts from previous: All posts1 day7 days2 weeks1 month3 months6 months1 year Sort by AuthorPost timeSubject AscendingDescending Page 1 of 1 [ 8 posts ]
