BUT suppose you don't want to print the Project out on paper. Suppose, for example, that instead you want to save it to disk as a plain text file. How would you go about doing that? Yes, I do have a way, but it's a complicated way that involves working with the RB Project in .xml format and includes lines like this: SourceText = ReplaceAllB ( SourceText, "<", "<" ) and I get the feeling that there MUST be an easier way. My way seems to work perfectly with everything I tried it with, but that may be because I've mostly only used it with Projects I've written. It may or may not work with Projects that make use of things I don't know enough about to use in my own source code. For example, I only found out about the need to include the line above because I found that what I had at that point could not properly handle a Project containing the less-than symbol ("<"). (Yes, I do write Projects that include the less-than symbol, but the point is that if I didn't, I might never know that my approach needed refining in that area.) Back to my original question: Suppose you don't want to print a Project out on paper. Suppose that instead you want to save it to disk as a plain text file. How would YOU go about doing that? Barry Traver P.S. I'm using the Windows version of 2012 Release 2 of the Enterprise edition of Real Studio, if that makes any difference. In Windows, add a new local printer Use Existing Port: FILE: (Print to File) For the printer use: Printers Generic / Text Only _________________ Fly like a mouse, run like a cushion, be the small bookcase. http://www.wish-sandwich.com Top ktekinay Post subject: Re: How to Save to Disk RB Source Code as Printable Text?Posted: Tue Feb 19, 2013 8:29 am Joined: Mon Feb 05, 2007 5:21 pm Posts: 456 Location: New York, NY I guess it depends on why you want to do this, but I'd print to PDF. _________________ Kem Tekinay MacTechnologies Consulting http://www.mactechnologies.com/ Need to develop, test, and refine regular expressions?
