Posts: 61 I want to build a single exe file application. It is a
simple one o probably can compile on older versions.
Before going into re-installing older versions to find out when the switch was
made to external DLLs:
1. Is there an option in the current version to force a build into a single exe?
2. what was the last version that built a single exe.

Saved me a lot of installing - I somehow thought it was much later.

Newer versions can create a single exe file, it just depends on which classes
you use (pushbutton does not require a dll; bevel button does). I once had a
project which I had to create a canvas control to replicate the 'disclosure
triangle' since that was the only item I needed which required a dll, and I
needed to keep my program to a single file. This was a simple program, it
didn't need any database connectivity or networking, so I was able do it.

That was the case up through 2011r4.3. After that (2012r1+) even a blank window
and no code will yield a DLL (msvcrt.dll if memory serves); this is one of the
main reasons I'm still using 2011r4.3

Yes, I should have noted that some newer versions can. I'm using an older
version myself, and cannot check past 2011.
